J. Crew has been steadily incorporating collaborations into its collections for years now. It has worked with a spectrum of designers and brands from niche high fashion names like Altuzarra and Comme des Garçons to broader household brands like Timex and Nike. J. Crew just announced its latest partner, adorable 4-year-old fashion wunderkind, Mayhem. She first rose to fame by recreating looks from the Oscars and dresses from the Met Ball and has garnered an Instagram following of 434,000.
Tapped by J. Crew executive creative director Jenna Lyons to design an exclusive J. Crew crewcuts capsule collection this past February, Mayhem designed clothing, shoes, and accessories using arts and crafts materials like construction paper, colored tape, glue, crayons, and beads. From there, Mayhem’s mom, Amy Keiser, says “they sprinkled their magic J.Crew fairydust on it and turned paper into fabric.” Mayhem’s nine piece “whimsical” collection, Little Mayhem with J. Crew, will feature dresses, shirts, rompers and accessories like headbands and scarves. The collection will hit stores in Summer 2015 and be priced under $100.
