Friends David and Terence started Boundless Brooklyn with one simple idea: Create a DIY water tower model kit. What started as a childhood fantasy come true for NYU ITP Master’s students has grown into nine different models, collaborations with local artists, and a booming business.
Here are the basics: All model kits are made in the USA from 100% recyclable precision-cut materials, and come with everything you need to assemble right down to the detailed instructions for assembly. No hunting down X-Acto knives, glue, scissors, or other obscure tools to make your model come to life.
These model kits are designed for kids ages six and up, and can be assembled in 10–15 minutes flat, so even your most impatient family member won’t get bored. Even better, they’re fully customizable and compatible with every art supply imaginable, from acrylic markers to watercolor.
Little builders will recognize familiar landmarks and options, with choices of model kits like halfpipes, mailboxes, and lighthouses that will find a happy home incorporated into school projects like dioramas, displayed on bookshelves or fireplace mantles, sitting on office desks, and more.
We can’t think of a better brain-friendly (but fun!) project to occupy long summer days.
