Let’s face it: when you’re a parent, sometimes a fashion victory entails brushing your hair and finding two matching socks. But that’s okay. As much as Fashion Week makes us pause to appreciate external beauty, it’s also a time to remember the hard work, creativity, and real business acumen goes into every production.

Enter Fashion Angels, a Milwaukee-based company that’s been churning out trendy, easy-to-use activity kits, fashion sketch books, DIY crafts, fashion accessories, natural beauty care, and more since 1996. Founded by sisters, retail devotees, and fashion vets Goldi Miller and Myra Mouloudji, Fashion Angels believes in empowering tweens to discover their personal style, express themselves, and develop into confident young people.

So while you’re perusing the Style section of The New York Times this week, encourage your kids to channel their wonder into crafts and DIY projects. Here are three of our favorites:
