A Nail Polish That’s Truly Kid-Friendly

One day Melanie Hurley was giving her two young daughters manicures with what was supposed to be kid-friendly polish. A drop of the solvent-based polish landed on a disposable foam plate she was using to protect her tabletop—and promptly burned a hole through the plate.

That was the day Piggy Paint was born. This “natural as mud” nail polish line is truly kid-friendly: it’s non-toxic, odorless, hypoallergenic, and made in the USA. The water-based formula is totally free of formaldehyde, toluene, pthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate, and acetone, and other scary sounding chemicals.

Designed just for kids, Piggy Paint polishes dry with a durable finish that’s designed to withstand both the playground and the playroom, but is easily removed with Piggy Paint nail polish remover.

This kitchen table project has evolved into a full-fledged beauty line. Piggy Paint is now available in over 30 colors (plus a base and top coat) with fun names like PINKie Promise and Glitter Bug, but Hurley didn’t stop there. Her product line has expanded to include vinyl nail design stencils, Puppy Paint specifically formulated for the fashionable fido in your family, gift sets, hair products, and SOPHi non-toxic polishes for adult women.

Now when Hurley gives her girls manicures, she doesn’t have to worry about them putting their fingers in their mouths, or the polish burning a hole through a plate—and she doesn’t want you to worry, either.
